it is stifling and disappointing to think of people like clay. it might be the artists condition or it might be perpetual romanticization, and those two might even be the same. i’ve not decided yet. the clay can have an appealing texture, and there you go trying to mold it into something that it is not. maybe the clay can abide by your desired shape for a moment, but it will return to itself. people are not clay. you would benefit from not trying to mold them into things they are not. don’t create statues of them in your heart for you will be met with dissatisfaction every time. the sculpture you’ve created for them won’t suit.
you can avoid disappointment by thinking of people as already made.
